cervical spine decompression

Cervical spine decompression is a technique used to alleviate pain and other symptoms associated with spinal conditions affecting the neck area. The technique involves the use of mechanical or manual force to create negative pressure or traction within the cervical spine, which can help to decompress the spinal discs, alleviate nerve impingement, and reduce inflammation.

In our office we use the following techniques to achieve cervical spine decompression:

  1. Manual cervical traction: In this technique, we use our hands to gently pull the patient's neck, applying a controlled amount of force to create a stretching effect in the cervical spine.

  2. Mechanical cervical traction: This technique uses a device that can apply a controlled amount of force to the patient's neck, creating a stretching effect that helps to decompress the cervical spine.

  3. Y-strap spinal decompression

Cervical spine decompression can be effective for a range of spinal conditions affecting the neck area, including herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, cervical radiculopathy, and neck pain. However, it is important to note that not all patients are suitable candidates for cervical spine decompression, and that a thorough evaluation by a qualified chiropractor is necessary to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for each individual patient.
